| CANON: Kingdom Hearts
| NAME: Ventus, nickname Ven
| AGE: 16
| CANON POINT: Post Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance
| HISTORY: His history is here but I'll try to give you a brief summary of it. He was attacked by his first mentor, Master Xenohart, who was trying to create the ultimate weapon (a keyblade) through him. The result of the attack was an evil doppleganer of himself and the loss of his memory when he almost died. When his mentor realized he'd lost his memories, he happily dumped him on another master to train him. Master Eraqus already had two apprentices, Terra and Aqua. Seeing Ven in a vulnerable state, the two befriended him and became very protective of him. They're friendship strengths over the years and he forms a bond with Terra as he would with a brother. All three have the same goal, to become Keyblade Masters, and they work hard together to achieve that goal.

After taking the test to become a Keyblade Master, which only Aqua officially passes, Ven has again fallen into the spotlight of his first mentor's eyes. His evil doppleganger, Vanitas, tries to antagonize him by telling him that one day his friend Terra will disappear and become a new person. Not wanting to believe him but still worried for Terra, Ven goes in search of him only to find out he's been sent on a mission. He runs away from home in order to go after him, traveling to many different worlds and making friends along the way. Several times he's told by various people that Terra is doing horrible things until he begins to doubt his friend. However, Aqua, their mutual friend steps in to convince him otherwise. He continues on his journey to find Terra, battling his evil doppleganger when he again tells him Terra is going to disappear. He almost looses until he receives help from an unlikely source, King Mickey. He follows him to a new world where he is finally reunited with his friends. They battle some monsters together and defeat them but a rift has come between Terra and Aqua, who argue bitterly. Ven takes Terra's side and chases after him again. When he finds Terra again, Terra tells him he doesn't want him to come with him but that if he's ever in trouble, he knows Ven will be there. Aqua tells him the same thing when he meets her again; he can't come with her because she doesn't want him to get hurt.

He begins to wonder about what friendship means and goes on traveling in hopes of redefining it and later, of making new friends. However, he is sidelined by his first mentor yet again and Master Xenohart reveals that the only reason he's interested in him is because he wants to create the ultimate weapon from his heart. Left out of sorts, he returns home only for his current mentor, Master Eraqus, to try to kill him when he realizes what Xenohart's plans are. Terra manages to save him but Ven is sent away. He isn't allowed any peace as Vanitas come to taunt him again, forcing him to remember everything. But that's not enough for him and he threatens to kill his friends this time if Ven doesn't give him a real fight. Forced into a corner, Ven reluctantly agrees. He finds his friends and explains the situation to them, telling them how scared he is and that he wants them to destroy him if he becomes a threat. They don't have time to think about this as the battle quickly begins after that. A lot happens (I don't want to explain anymore, sorry) and the fight with Vanitas and Ven ends terribly for both of them. Vanitas is destroyed and Ven, his heart hurt in the battle nearly beyond repair, falls into a comatose-like sleep. Aqua takes him to the Chamber of Waking and tells him that she and Terra will find a way to return his heart to him and wake him up.

I haven't actually played KH 3D Dream Drop Distance but I read the spoilers. As far as I can tell, it looks like Ventus will be waking up soon so I'm playing him shortly after that, when he's recently awaken. Above is canon and the rest is my headcanon, which is why I labelled him canon AU. Ventus awakens in the Chamber of Waking, his heart returned to him by Sora, but having been asleep for so long has had an effect on his body. Now, he takes frequent, if short, naps and can sleep almost anywhere. Also, he can use the power of his keyblade but it leaves him weak as his heart still isn't fully healed. His personality is much the same, although he's developed a cautiousness concerning his past and anyone he knows, especially Aqua and Terra.
| PERSONALITY: Kind, cheerful, sweet, curious; he wants to know a little of everything and loves to talk. He tends to get really excited about new things and loves learning about them. He easily makes friends as well, although Terra and Aqua will always hold a special place in his heart as his best friends. He isn't able to cope with betrayal easily and it hurts him deeply. He could possibly forgive such a betrayal but it would take time and his trust would need to be earned back. He is also very brave, willing to risk his life and his heart in order to fight and protect his friends. Still, he has a childish side and while he doesn't mind being spoiled by Terra and Aqua, he dislikes that he isn't allowed to follow them everywhere, even if they're doing it to keep him safe. He doesn't mind being the youngest, though, in fact enjoying it as it means he gets special attention from the two of them.
| POWERS & ABILITIES: Speed and agility like you wouldn't believe. He had a Keyblade, a sword in the shape of a key made up from his heart. Some of the attacks he's able to use are Pulse Bomb, Multirvortex, Dark Link, Fever Pitch, Cyclone, and Wingblade. He probably won't use any of these attacks, which is why I only gave the link instead of the description. If he's in a fight and he needs to use an attack, he'll probably use Cyclone or Wingblade as a last resort. Generally, he'll try to avoid fights and beyond using his speed and agility, probably won't use anything else. He can use light and wind magic too.

I read the powers you'd want him to get rid of and the ability to travel to other dimensions is easy enough to take away, as long as you take his Star Shard away. Without it, he can't travel to other worlds as that power is currently dormant in him. I will probably want to take almost all of his powers, giving him little control over wind and light, just basic spells.
| EQUIPMENT & PETS: Keyblade. Some armor. Healing potions. No pets.
| ANYTHING ELSE?: Not that I can think of.
| WRITING/VOICE SAMPLE: Going to try my hand at what I think his introduction would be like if I'm accepted.

Ventus woke in a strange room he'd never seen before. It was bare but for the markings on the wall, which were of the Master Keyblade. There was a large throne in it, which he found himself seated on. He felt as if he just slept away half of his life, which he supposed he had. Memories, faint and fuzzy but undeniably there floated to the surface of what had gone on while he was asleep. The fate of his friends, of Aqua and Terra, made his heart heavy. Terra, the brother he'd never had and his best friend, had been swallowed by the darkness. He recalled Vanitas' warnings to him, how Terra would disappear and now he was truly lost to him. He doesn't know all of what happened, only what little he witnessed before his heart found Sora and joined with him. Terra was possessed and both he and Aqua fell into the Realm of Darkness. Unable to follow them without his heart being destroyed forever, he sought out a way to heal himself and found Sora, who took his heart in. He doesn't know what happened to them after that but he's sure he'll find out. First, he has to figure out where he is and how to leave this place.

He stands on shaking legs and looks all around but sees no door, no exit. How had he come to be here? The memory is too vague for him to recall the details. He searches for an exit but can't find out. There are no hidden panels, no secret passages, no trap doors that he can find. Swallowing his frustration, he fights the urge to yawn and instead shoves his hands into his pocket. There, he feels something and pulls it out, surprised to see the Star Shard. For a moment, he just turns it over in his hands, studying it as the memories of it come flooding back. A small smile ghosts across his lips. This is it, this is what he needed. Here it was, here was his ticket out of this strange room. As if answering the call of his heart to leave, it glowed slightly and then he was being sent to another world. Belated, he remembered King Mickey mentioning something about controlling the Star Shard. Having not thought about controlling it, he hadn't thought of where he was going. He was being sent to a random world, one he might know nothing about. He squeezes his eyes shut and waited to arrive. Moments later, he found himself in this new world and he blinked, surprised by what he saw. He'd never seen anything like it before. What was this place?

He looked around, studying everything he could see. He was in a strange place, somewhere there were many areas built on top of one another. The one he was currently on seemed to have a lot of plants on it, although he couldn't tell if the other levels were like this one. He felts something wet touch the back of his neck and looked up. A dropplet landed on his forehead. Another landed on his cheek. Light rain poured over him, not completely soaking him at first but slowly dampening his outfit. He shivered, realizing how cold it was. He looked around, hoping to see some place where he could duck out of the rain. Unfortunately, most of this place seemed to consist of open area with plants and crops gladly soaking up the rain. He spotted a tiny building and ran for it, shivering more as his hair dripped down and his clothes became drenched in the steady stream of rain. When he reached the building, he was slightly disappointed to find it was actually a green house. He slipped inside, grateful for the small amount of extra warmth it provided, although it was still cold. He leaned against the wall, shivering continuously. It was nicer in here though and he was so tired. He fought to keep his eyes open but they kept drooping lower. A large yawn over took him and his eyes slid closed. He found they were too heavy to open when the yawn had passed. He didn't know where he was or what kind of world this place was. He didn't know if he was safe here or what had happened to his friends. He needed to stay awake, to find someone who could explain where he was and what this place was called. He needed to stay awake, stay awake… He slumped over, his body relaxing, even as his consciousness faded away. He was already here, there was nothing he could do about that, and there would be time to explore this place later. What was the worst that could happen to him here?
